The Independent Spirit Awards is so much better and far more entertaining than the Oscars or Golden Globes. The award show in 2008 was hosted by Rainn Wilson, who was absolutely amusing and funny the whole night. I wasn't disappointed with the winners or the losers, because at least they were nominated for the effort they put into their work.

Once, the only first musical I liked, won for best foreign film, and Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova performed the song, "When Your Mind's Made Up," which can be found on the soundtrack, which I had downloaded not too long ago. But I have to say, a young actress that everyone should look out for is Anna Kendrick. She was in one of my favorite movies, Camp, and she was also nominated this year for best supporting female. She's young and talented and seems like she'll be getting more recognition as she gets older --or at least in the indie world.

By the way, is it weird to mention that Rainn Wilson reminded me a bit of Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie?
