It's a snow day here in New York, so I'm at home which means I don't have much to do. So, I created a playlist with a theme of happy voices in cheery songs. Then again, Adam Green doesn't always sound as upbeat as he does in "Morning After Midgnight," nor does Keven Barnes is a number of Of Montreal songs. But here are songs that are meant to be sung along to.

01 Of Montreal - "A Sentence of Sorts In Kongsvinger"
02 The Apples In Stereo - "Signal In The Sky Let's Go"
03 The Bird and the Bee - "Love Letter To Japan"
04 Jens Lekman - "I Saw Her In The Anti War Demonstration"
05 ELO - "Mr. Blue Sky"
06 Adam Green - "Morning After Midnight"
07 Architecture In Helsinki - "Hold Music"
08 Au Revoir Simone - "Stars"
09 Sigur Ros - "Inní mér syngur vitleysingur"
10 The Harlem Shakes - "A Night"
11 Patrick Wolf - "Get Lost"
12 Tokyo Police Club - "Your English Is Good"

I'm apologize to the photographer for not being able to give credit.

01 Architecture In Helsinki – The Owls Go
Attic in a basement with a knife serrated/I’ll protect you/Don’t hide the pleasures you’ve found/In your rolling around/Where all the leaves have been swept and the flowers grow/And don’t go finding a replacement/I promise I’ll show you heart heart heart heart.

02 New Buffalo – Just A Little Time
It’s the carnival of seasons/I’ve decided you should be here with me now/I’m not leaving/You’re what keeps me/All inspired/Have I told you/In the room/I play guitar/I wrote about you/All night long

03 The Killers – Believe Me Natalie
There is an old cliché/Under your monet, baby/Remember the arch of roses/Right above your couch/Forget what they said in Soho/Leave the oh-no’s out/Yes, there is an old cliché/Under your monet, baby.

04 Bloc Party – Skeleton
What should I have said/What should I have done/The horses are here/The damage is done/So just take off your shirt/And just take off your dress/We can go dancing/On a Saturday.

05 Say Hi – Back Before We Were Brittle
Hey, remember when all of time stood still/And really, all you’d need is a peck from her/Maybe we should trade some physics/Or black market spines/To go and get us back.

Swedish pop band, Envelopes comes forth with their latest album, Here Comes The Wind. Filled with fun, jangly pop this record is ideal for anyone interested in bands like Architecture In Helsinki (a group that Envelopes is often compared to) and The Most Serene Republic. The album's opening track, "Party" reminded me of Andrew Bird's "Dark Matter" when I first heard it; not because of its lyrical content, but for the way it was introduced. "I'd Like To C U" is probably the best song off this record. Filled with joy and goodness, one will be pleased when they're finished with this well-put album. B

I decided to create a playlist because there really wasn't much to do. I tried to make the songs related to every other song included in the mix. Anyone who comes across this should enjoy, I hope you do.

01 Blue Light – Bloc Party
And you didn’t even notice / When the sky turned blue / And you couldn’t tell the difference / Between me and you / And I nearly didn’t notice / The gentlest feeling.

02 Secret Heart – Feist
Secret heart / Why so mysterious? / Why so scared? / Why so serious? / Maybe you’re / Just acting tough / Or maybe you’re just / Not man enough / What’s wrong?

03 Souvenirs – Architecture in Helsinki
I’ve got souvenirs but yesterday can’t mean too much / Have we missed an opportunity?

04 Let Go – Frou Frou
So let go / Let go / Jump in / Oh well, whatcha waiting for? / It’s alright, cause there’s beauty in the breakdown / So let go / Let go / Just get in / Oh, it’s so amazing here / It’s alright, cause there’s beauty in the breakdown.

05 The Quiz - Hello Saferide
But there are things you need to know about me / I'm weak right now / Real weak right now / I need proof before I dare to open this heart / So I prepared a quiz for you.

06 The Magic of Crashing Stars - Tender Forever
And all the phonecalls / And the nights not sleeping, sleeping, sleeping tight / Makes me wonder / How it's like when I'm with you / And I want you.

07 I'm Only Sleeping (The Beatles cover) - The Vines
Please don't wake me / No, don't shake me / Leave me where I am / I'm only sleeping.

08 Better Days Will Come - Tahiti 80
As I was / Thinking 'bout the things that you said / I looked up / To the sky and saw a cloud passing by / There must be something wrong / There must be something wrong / Better days will come.

The only Architecture in Helsinki song I've heard was "It'5!" and I thought it was pretty good. The Australian sextet's new album, Places Like This has been leaked, and probably most listeners of the musical ensemble already have the tracks downloaded. I'm not a listener of AiH, so this album was pretty much the basis of my opinion on their music.

"Red Turned White" was a song that I didn't particularly like. Neither was "Heart It Races," the following song on the record.  Although these songs weren't completely terrible, I would suggest that their are other better songs that the band could provide with. The next track, "Hold Music" is energetic and lively, the way I so far picture the band as being.

I wasn't really that tempted to hear any other AiH albums after hearing It'5! until this new album was leaked. "Feather in a Baseball Cap" isn't funky and upbeat  like  I thought it might be, but it  doesn't sound too bad, either.  Neither does  "Underwater," which seems to sound nice. "Like It Or Not" is fun to dance to and is catchy.  It's pretty good, and turns your calm, mellow mood more energizing.
